Backing up your Computer

Over the past few weeks we have had in increase in the number of customers coming into our store who have had their hard drive crash on their laptops and desktops as well as their external hard drives. None of them had a recent backup. This means that they had had to spend between $400 and $1500 on expensive data recovery, and some of them didnt get all of their data back. I cannot stress enough how important it is to backup your computers regularly. We have 500gb hard drives for $89 and I would recommend having at least two hard drives that you keep in a different location to your main computer. One of our customers did have a backup hard drive, but they were using it to store data... which means that when the external hard drive crashed, they lost everything. If you are going to an external harddrive to store data, you still need to back up the external hard drive to another drive. Some our customers did have a backup drive, but just hadn't backed up in a while. Another customer had their computer and backup drive stolen, which is why it's important to have 2 backup drives and keep one in a different location.
