One of the biggest mistakes that people have made is that not all devices were on a battery backup (UPS - Uninteruptable Power Supply), so when there was a power surge and the power went out, either the router or switch was taken out, or the power supply or network card in the computer was damaged. We had one company that had a surge that went through the cabled network, damaging all network cards and one of the motherboards. It is important to ensure that all routers, switches, modems and computers are securely connected to the battery backup side of the ups. Laser printers should be connected to the Surge side of the UPS (NOT the battery side). The other advantage with using a UPS is that when the power goes out you can carry on working for a short while and will not lose the data you were working on. You can also program them the UPS to automatically shut down the computer correctly after a certain period of time if the power goes out when you are out of the office. Replacing the LCD in your laptop takes expertise, and we have the talent in house to quickly remove your old, damaged LCD and replace it with a brand new one. The new LCD that we install is tested out and returned back to you, usually on the next business day. So if you have an laptop that works great, but the display is damaged in some way, add this item to your cart and let us do the rest.

Screen Measurement Instructions

Screen sizes are normally measured in inches from one corner to the corner diagonally across from it. This diagonal measuring system actually came about because the early television manufacturers wanted to make the screen size of their TVs sound more impressive.

Measuring your screen is quite easy:

Step 1 Find the two points you will use for measuring your laptop LCD screen. The first point will be one of the screen corners -- this is the corner of the screen, not the frame of the notebook. The second point will be the opposite corner from the first (for example, measure from the top left corner of the laptop LCD screen to the bottom right corner). Step 2 Place hold the end of your measuring tape down at the first corner of the screen, and extend the measuring tape until you reach the second corner. Step 3 Read the hash mark on the tape measure at the point where the tape measure reaches the second corner. The number you see will be the size of your LCD laptop screen. NOTE: most tape measures measure in 16ths of inches, but screen-sizes are measured in 10ths of inches. Here's a helpful list of common screen sizes and approximate measurements: 8.9", 814/16" or 87/8".
